The Foreign Account Tax Compliance Act (FATCA) requires foreign financial institutions to report information to the U.S. government regarding U.S. account holders. The Fair and Accurate Credit Transactions Act of 2003 (FACT Act or FACTA, Pub.L. 108–159 (text)) is a United States federal law, passed by the United States Congress on November 22, 2003, and signed by President George W. Bush on December 4, 2003, as an amendment to the Fair Credit Reporting Act. FATCA is an on-going process. If your account information changes, we may be required to contact you to obtain additional information to confirm your classification under FATCA. We will be reviewing all existing customers to ensure that US owned accounts and entity accounts are correctly identified and reported where required. FATCA and all these inter-related efforts to ensure synergies at one end and that FATCA becomes an integral part of the institution’s internal operating model for management on an on-going basis. In competitive times of today, having a FATCA model that facilitates compliance with minimum possible impact on customer service levels, is key.
